Here is a highlight of The Joe Colombo Car Collection. Joe Colombo from Wayne, New Jersey is very talented and a master at restoring Quarter Midgets and full sized Midgets. His detail to excellence makes every restoration a work of art.
Here are some of Joe's Quarter Midgets and restorations in his shop in New Jersey.

Joe Colombo took friend Bill Nash's advice and built a replica Quarter Midget of the Caruso #2 Kurtis Kraft-Offy Midget driven by Bill Schindler

Does anyone have the contact info for Mr. Joe Colombo of Wayne New Jersey? I'd like to know if parts and or cars can be sourced. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

***Looking for a "Vandy Special" Nice collection of racers. My grandfather build the "Vandy Special", I attached photos of the flyer. My father is the boy in the flyer. They even had a race track at the farm in Furlong, PA. My grandfather has since passed away and my father is aging. I'd love to find a Vandy Special to give him. I know this search is probably close to impossible. I've searched the internet with no luck. If anyone knows of the whereabouts of any piece of a Vandy Special, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi, I really don't know anything about the Vandy Quarter Midget. Are you on Face Book? They have a couple of sites and there are people that know about them that could help you. I have a quarter midget from the mid 50`s. My wife tells me I have to sell it before I die because she would not know what to do with it. I am only 70 so I hope I still have many years to go. The midget in question is the one I had when I was 5 or 6. I have a photo from 1958 showing me in the car racing. We had a I/4 midget club and track in Willow Grove, Pa. The picture is from there. I would like to find out what make it is and weather I can still get parts for it. Also about how much it is worth. If you could send me your email address I could send you some pictures. It has a Continental 20 1/2hp engine on it. My email address is:
gordonwalt@ymail.com. I now live in Tucson AZ. Thank you for any help you could give me. Walt Gordon |
No problem, I’ll send this to Steve Baumgarten and he may be able to help you. I’ll have to go back to the thread and see the photos and forward those also.
Sincerely,
Max

I raced a Vandy for years. We must of been one of first. As I don’t remember raceing against another. We raced At Langhorne in the infield. And down rt 1 to Penndel. Then up to Furlong Pa. Three times a week in summer. We were one of the ones to beat if we showed up
